Katie Binder

Katie Binder is a choreographer and educator in New York State.

She graduated with her MFA in Choreography from Jacksonville University in 2023. Prior to that she received her MST in Childhood Education ’16 and her BA in Dance ’14 from SUNY Potsdam.

She is most known for being the artistic director and choreographer of WellBeing Dance. She enjoys educating students in academic settings around the world. Her experiences range from service learning in South Africa, studying abroad and incorporating dance within the academic subjects in Australia, teaching dance within public and private K-12 schools, leading dance workshops and residencies in higher education.

Katie is focused on creating agency and dancer voice within collaborative choreographic processes. She enjoys teaching dance to adults beginner through advanced and loves to encourage others to find their artistic voice through dance performance and dance composition.

She aspires to be an adjunct professor in higher education. Kate has been dancing since age 5 studying tap, jazz, musical theater, ballet, and improvisation and is so grateful to be in the dance field and loves to share her enthusiasm and passion for dance and choreography with others.
